CONGRATULATIONS, LISA!

It is our pleasure to announce that , Ph.D. candidate in Political Science, has accepted a tenure-track position at South Dakota State University as an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the . Lisa will be completing her dissertation, 鈥淭he Legal, Institutional, and Political Factors of Congressional Court-Curbing: The Purpose and Seriousness of Attempts to Constrain the United States Supreme Court,鈥 prior to joining South Dakota State next fall.

This accomplishment follows on the heels of another prestigious recognition. Last year, Lisa was awarded an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellowship. She is currently in Washington, D.C., serving as a fellow in the office of . Her portfolio includes education, agriculture, government operations, campaign finance reform, and Native American policy. She also covers the Science, Space, & Technology Committee and the STEM Education Caucus.

Congratulations to faculty Ryan Claassen, Michael Ensley, and Michael Beam on receiving the Healthy Communities Research Institute Launchpad Grant for $20,000. The grant will fund research into the effects of politics on relationships and the associated implications for the loneliness epidemic.

Sydney Roche is thriving as a first-year law student at on a full-ride scholarship, and she credits much of her success to the foundation she built at 91大神.
