2026 Parenting Through the Teen Years - Understanding Teen Sleep and Substance Use

91´óÉñ Geauga & Twinsburg Academic Center is launching a new speaker series to support parents and caregivers of students in grades 8–12. Sessions will focus on teen mental and social wellbeing, health and safety, educational pathways, and community resources—while also recognizing the unique challenges faced by those caring for both children and aging loved ones. The series is designed to provide practical tools, expert insight, and a supportive community for families navigating these important years.
In this session, Dr. Brian Zack, Chief Medical Officer of Population Health of University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, will explore two key factors impacting adolescent health: sleep and substance use. Participants will leave with practical strategies to support their teen’s health and make informed decisions as a family.
This presentation will be held in person at the KSU Twinsburg Academic Center and livestreamed to KSU Geauga, as well as Geauga County Public Library branches in Bainbridge, Middlefield, and Thompson.
